A desperate actor dresses in drag and passes himself off as a woman to land a film role; he falls for the lead actress and becomes her confidante to get closer to her; she discovers his masquerade and all seems lost; she forgives him and they live happily ever after. If any of this sounds at all reminiscent of Tootsie, that’s probably because it’s a shameless rip-off. Beyond that, it’s also a lacklustre attempt at lampooning the philistinism of the American film industry – ironic for a by-the-American-numbers romcom with a stolen (American) plot.

Alfred Hitchcock's painfully underrated black comedy The Trouble With Harry is a deliciously morbid film sure to amuse anyone with a slightly twisted or unorthodox sense of humor (such as Alfred Hitchcock's own). A dead body is found lying in the woods; what to do with him becomes the bothersome dilemma for a small group of the local residents. It was shot in the rich color of Vermont's autumn, the perfect compliment to its darker subject matter. Hitchcock has stated that the line quoted above is his favorite line from all his films.

harlie's Tramp character finds himself at a circus where he is promptly gets chased around by the police who think he is a pickpocket. Running into the bigtop, he is an accidental sensation with his hilarious efforts to elude the police. The ringmaster/owner immediately hires him, but discovers the Tramp cannot be funny on purpose, so he takes advantage of the situation by making the Tramp a janitor just happens to always in the Bigtop at showtime. Unaware of this exploitation, the Tramp falls for the owner's lovely acrobatic daughter, who is abused by her father. His chances seem good, until a dashing rival comes in and Charlies feels he has to compete with him.
